HANIE J. KIM
Hanie J. Kim is an associate of Studebaker Nault focusing her practice on healthcare litigation and regulatory and compliance matters.
As part of her litigation practice, Ms. Kim provides legal representation for medical and dental practices, and individual physicians, dentists and other health care providers, pharmacies, ambulatory surgery centers, and other facilities. She handles claims of unprofessional conduct, unlicensed practice and violations of federal and state health care laws before disciplinary boards, state and federal agencies, and in court.
Ms. Kim also advises clients regarding health care regulatory and compliance matters, including Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care coverage issues. As part of her regulatory and compliance practice, Ms. Kim advises clients on HIPAA and accompanying state data privacy and security laws, assists clients with developing appropriate policies and procedures, and provides clients with guidance on first-party breach response.
In addition, Ms. Kim represents clients involved in medical staff matters related to licensing, credentialing, peer review, and quality of care. Ms. Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Prior to attending law school, she worked for several years as a clinical social worker in inpatient medical units and emergency departments for several large hospital systems. Her experience as a social worker offers clients the benefit and value of working with legal counsel who has practical, clinical knowledge as well as real-life experience from working in the health care industry.
