Facility Accreditation and Certification

Studebaker Nault attorneys counsel health care providers and companies with regard to accreditation, certification and licensing issues for office-based and free-standing facilities.

Our attorneys have experience advising health care clients regarding Medicare certification and compliance with the Conditions for Coverage and Conditions of Participation.  We draft Plans of Correction to address Statements of Deficiencies identified by Medicare and state survey agencies and also represent clients in decertification actions.  When necessary or recommended, we work with registered nurse and/or administrator consultants with clinical expertise and operational experience in the applicable health care setting.

Studebaker Nault also advises health care providers on state licensing matters, working with state agencies on licensing and other matters, including advising clients on licensing requirements and defending clients in license revocation and other matters.

Our attorneys work with health care providers to prepare for initial accreditation with The Joint Commission, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities and other organizations.  We also work with providers to prepare for surveys and resurveys and to respond to deficiencies identified in connection with those surveys.

On behalf of ASCs and their state trade associations, Studebaker Nault attorneys have been instrumental in the development and negotiation of laws and regulations affecting ambulatory surgery centers in Washington and Oregon.
