Theresa Dougherty focuses her practice on litigation and dispute resolution in the health care arena.  In conjunction with Studebaker Nault’s representation of health care providers and provider organizations, Ms. Dougherty represents clients before local, state and federal regulatory agencies and in arbitration and mediation.  She counsels clients through disputes involving corporate governance and business transactions, professional licensing and privileging, regulatory compliance, government program and private payor issues, and employment matters, including non-competition and non-solicitation provisions.
Ms. Dougherty’s nursing background allows her to understand issues through a legal and clinical lens.  Having worked as an intensive care nurse for several years, Ms. Dougherty draws upon her fluency in clinical issues to understand the unique challenges faced by health care providers.  She strategically guides her clients through litigation and dispute resolution while giving careful consideration to the impact it has on her clients’ provision of health care services.  Whether disputes resolve in early stages of discussion or proceed through litigation, Ms. Dougherty methodically crafts a course designed to meet her clients’ business objectives.  She thrives on finding effective and creative solutions to problems.
